One day we made a decision to walk with God,
we asked Jesus into our heart.
We believed life would be all grand,
we didn’t totally understand.
We celebrated all our worries and troubles
would be gone.
We had God now to depend on.
All our sins and debts were cancelled and
we thought all our prayers would be answered.
Life then took a turn for the worse,
we joyfully discovered a verse.
We are taken through the fire,
because God wants to take us higher.
He introduces us to forgiveness, grace, love, and mercy.
He reminds us to trust Him and His Word.
God desires that we grasp our prayers are heard.
God reveals Himself, if we will wait.
We discover He the Creator of all,
and He is great.
God doesn’t want to see you struggle or
doubt His yearning to respond to your prayers.
The fire is there to refine and test us,
but most all for the name-sake of Christ.
If we stayed the same and continued to live in shame,
yet tried to carry the name of Jesus
how would that glorify HIS name?
The furnace of affliction
burns the impurities of conviction.
Beauty comes from the fire of adversity and
the ashes remain to carry on His glorious name.
“See, I have refined you. though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.
For my own sake, for my own sake, I do this.
How can I let myself be defamed? (reputation damaged, slandered, given a bad name)
I will not yield my glory to another.” Isaiah 48:10
