What do you do when you “vacation” in the Middle East? I will tell you some of my experiences the five times I flew to a time zone eight hours away.
I spent ten days in 2009 and 2010 teaching Vacation Bible School, making home visits, training church laypeople, and sightseeing in a small town in Utah. When someone volunteers to go on a “mission trip” their motivation is to improve the lives of others. What really happens is that their own life is enriched, their faith grows, and they learn much more than they teach.

As a mentor, you enable your mentee to reach more of their God-given potential. Do not confuse an intern with a mentee. An intern is someone who learns from you and assists you in your vocation or hobby. A mentee is someone with whom you share your skills and knowledge. (more…)
Are you discouraged? Do you feel like giving-up? You resolve to do better, only to slip back into your default. You are in good company. Look at what Paul said.
Although Jesus modeled for the disciples what to pray for themselves (Matthew 6:8-13), we must look to Paul’s example as to what to pray for others. I’ll admit I also pray these verses for myself. Praying scripture is powerful and still personal.
