Have you ever prayed that prayer so dear to your heart, and yet it seemed God just chose not to answer?
Or have you ever needed God to answer a prayer, but you got discouraged along the way and stopped praying?
Many have asked the question, “Why doesn’t God answer my prayers?”
What I have learned through my own experiences and those of others is that God always answers our prayers, but we might not be open to seeing or hearing His answers—especially if we want Him to answer in a certain way.
Scripture is clear, however, that there are things we do that can hinder our prayers from being answered.
If we’re all honest with ourselves, who hasn’t wondered, “What is my purpose? Why am I here?”

Have you ever been so upset with your circumstances that you yelled at God?
I remember a friend asked me once, “Haven’t you ever had a temper tantrum with God?” I was a little shocked at that question. Wouldn’t anger with God show irreverence? Didn’t Job do that when he reached his limit?
In one period of my life, trial after trial assaulted me from every direction. In between each one, I seldom had time to catch my breath.

I’m thankful for freedom. Independence. The liberation from slavery or the power of another. Our creator gives three inalienable rights:
- The freedom to pursue life
- The freedom to pursue liberty
- The pursuit of happiness.
The Declaration of Independence states: “…We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness…”
For hundreds of years, brave men and women fought to win and continue to fight to preserve our country’s freedom. I’m grateful for their selfless sacrifice.
As I reflect today on that sacrifice, I hold even greater gratitude for the price paid by my Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave His own life to be crucified on the cross to ensure my freedom for all eternity. (more…)

What’s your favorite season? I love spring and summer when life is breathed back into the earth. Colors seem brighter, foods seem to taste fresher, and plants bloom then grow in an array of colors and sizes.
Life. Planting and harvesting. Sowing and reaping.
So much of our history has revolved around agriculture including many of the parables in the Bible.
Galatians 6:7 says, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.”
When a farmer plants seed, he is intentional about the crop he wishes to harvest. (more…)
