After a heartfelt message on brokenness, people streamed up to the altar for prayer. One young woman came tearfully up to our prayer team. She was in a life-and-death battle with cancer and asked for prayer for healing. Our pastor took a glass bottle of oil, anointed her, and prayed for her as many others gathered around her in support.
While this type of anointing is a physical anointing, it has much in common with spiritual anointing. We can better understand spiritual anointing by using physical anointing as our springboard. (more…)

The day of the week escapes me, but I was on my knees at the bottom of the green recliner in my den, praying. The month is unclear, but it was in the late 1990’s. My prayer life radically changed. Prior to this, I had made a commitment to God; no matter how exhausted, I would not go to bed without reading my Bible and praying on my knees. I knew I needed to follow through. Many of us have had a friend, family, or someone we know profess faith in Jesus Christ, but after a while—because of trial, temptation, or even negative pressure from unbelievers—they seem to turn away from God altogether. A common phrase mentioned in times like this is: “Once you are saved, you are always saved.” Is this true? In this article we will answer the question:
