“Just wait until you have grandchildren,” they said. “It’s even better!”
How odd, I thought. We were raising our beautiful boy and thoroughly enjoying it. Certainly nothing could be better than the joys of being a mother. Right? (more…)
The year 2005 was pivotal for me and my husband, Mike. Our son had graduated college and married his sweetheart. They then moved to New Orleans for seminary. On the one hand, I was so happy for them, but on the other hand I was going through a grieving process, missing my only son terribly. This empty nest was not suiting me at all. A sudden split in the curtain separating the Holy of Holies from the common man created quite a stir amidst the temple priests. And an earthquake shook the area, causing rocks to split and graves to open. Many bodies of saints who had gone to their rest were raised. A centurion guard had even exclaimed, “This man really was God’s son!” (Matthew 27:54) Certainly the day was to go down in history as one to never be forgotten. (more…)
