With Father’s Day just yesterday, I cannot help but reflect on the amazing dad that I have been blessed with.
My dad is by far the hardest worker I have ever met or seen. He works upwards of 70 hours a week driving trucks for a chemical company, then comes home and umpires baseball or referees football (depending on the season) until 10 or 11 at night. If he has a weekend off, it is normally consumed with yard work or errands for the family. He is so tired most days that on the off chance he gets home before 8 pm he is so exhausted he falls sleep in his recliner within minutes.

Why does he work like this? The answer is easy . . . to provide for his family.

When thinking about how much my earthly father does for me behind the scenes to provide for me, I cannot help but compare it to how my Heavenly Father provides for all of us.

I want to focus on: Philippians 4:19.

“And my God will fully supply your every need according to his glorious riches in the Messiah Jesus.”

I think in today’s time it is hard for us to really rely on God to provide for us. We work and save as much as we can so that we can live a happy retirement. Where does this leave room for God’s miraculous provision? In my own experience, I have seen and witnessed how our almighty Father can provide both spiritually and physically when we rely on Him alone.

On the World Race in Namibia, my team had the unique task of finding new ministry contacts for Adventures in Missions. We got off the bus in Namibia and just started walking. We had no idea where we were going, where we were going to stay, or what ministry looked like for the month. Through prayer, random conversations on a bus, and the local church my team was provided lodging, food, and transportation for the entire month! It was incredible to watch and experience! Never before had I had to rely on God for something as necessary as a bed and a roof over my head!

By relying on the Lord to provide, my whole team got to experience firsthand the words written in Philippians 4. God provided our every need! He not only fulfilled our physical needs, but put us in a ministry that was fulfilling to our souls, and provided many contacts for the ministry of Adventures in Missions to continue in Namibia.

Have you ever seen or experienced God provide in such a tangible way before?

I believe God instilled certain traits in fathers to provide for their families. @MorganWingler Click To Tweet

They genuinely want to see good things happen for their families and they will do anything they can to make that happen. Does this not sound like our Heavenly Father as well?

I know this is true for my own father. He has sacrificed so much to make sure we have not only what we need but also things we want. Fathers invest so much of their time for the sake of their families and the ones they love.

Similarly, when we invest time in our relationship with God, He shows He cares by providing for us. He wants good things for us and has so much to give!

I would love to hear about a time when your earthly or Heavenly Father provided for you in a way that you could not deny.
