There is so much about the birth of Jesus that I cannot wrap my mind around. The primitive nature of every single detail that surrounds each moment of the birth of the Savior of the world.  And the Angels sang and the shepherds came while the rest of Bethlehem was too busy to notice, the leaders of the church and government too pious to see God at work all around that beautiful night of the birth of our salvation.

But more than anything, I cannot-CANNOT-imagine what it must have been like to lay a new born baby… one of MY OWN babies… in a feeding trough with hay.

So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.  He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.  (Luke 2:4-7 NIV)

The Son of God came to be the Son of Man so that you and I could receive all of the glorious riches that are ours… if we are in Christ.

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. (Ephesians 3:16-19)
