We are doing these videos from Ask God Today Ministries.
And each one of our ladies have shared their testimony with you and shared a little bit of their stories.
So today I am going to share a little bit of my story.
And I want to start with the question, “Who Am I”?
My name is Brenda McGraw. I am the Founder of Ask God Today Ministries.
But Who Am I?
I am a believer in Christ. I am a child of the King. And I am who I am because of who Christ is.
I am nothing without Him.
He is my everything.
When you see me today, you see me with a computer in lap. My husband would say that’s the way I am a lot of the times.
So who am I?
Video by Brenda McGraw
I want to share a little bit about myself.
I rejected Christ when I was thirteen.
I got married when I was nineteen.
I had breast cancer when I was twenty-four.
And life has just been plain crazy.
I have had two beautiful kids. (I now have five kids and two grandchildren, with another one on the way.)
My first husband ended up with an addiction problem and it led us down a long dark road. (My sweet husband Jeff is my best friend and I am thankful to God for bringing him into my life!)
But God had a plan for me.
He carried me through all of that. You know what? I am a stronger and better person because of who He is.
I would say my life verse, and it’s probably the life verse of many people is Jeremiah 29:11-14.
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and give you a hope and a future.”
This verse has become so evident and so true for me over the years. Even though right now I have been diagnosed with heart problems I know God has plans for me.
How did I get started writing?
God called me to writing back in 2002. It’s just been a progression. I am so excited that I have followed His path.
I am here to tell you:
If you have heard God tell you that you need to write a story, then be obedient and follow after Him.If you have heard God tell you that you need to write a story, then be obedient and follow Him. Click To Tweet
What’s one thing that you could find unusual about me?
One thing you could probably find unusual about me is that I believe:
I am a very positive person and parents actually raised me that way. They didn’t raise me in a Christian home. They raised me to believe that I could do whatever I set my mind to. They raised me to believe in goals.
Where is my favorite place to pray?
My favorite place to pray is anywhere. I normally pray as soon as I get out of bed.
I will try to hit my knees.
Do I do it everyday?
I wish I could say that I do.
But you know what?
What is the most challenging thing in my spiritual life?
Just having a quiet time. We all have struggled with that over the years. Fortunately I am in a place now and I am older now, my kids are out of school. Now I can actually have that quiet time with the Lord.
I know as a younger adult when I had kids at home it was hard.
I had that special time with Him and it changed my life.
Thank you so much for being a part of Ask God Today.
We love you and we have so much more in store for you over the next few months and years. And we are so excited to share our journeys with you.
Thank you and bless you.
