Hello everyone! I am De Anna Morris and I am a new member over at the Ask God Today Ministry Team. I am very thankful for this opportunity. I have already met women on this team who are so much farther along in the writing and blogging process than I am and they are Women of Grace. They have been encouraging and inspiring me. I have already been learning a lot by reading their blogs and meeting them through social media. THANK YOU ladies for allowing me to be a part of this great ministry and team.
I first met Brenda McGraw this time last year at the Allume Christian Writers Conference. While I was there I kept asking myself “Why am I here? I’m not a real writer and not a real blogger.” I prayed about it and said, “God I’m not sure what you have for me but help me to learn what I need to learn, meet who you want me to meet and You just show me the way.”
So I have been patiently waiting for God to open up the opportunity for me to be able to really focus in on writing and being able to share some of the things God has been teaching me through my walk with Him in His Word.
Over the last twelve months, well… less than twelve months… Mike and I have become Empty Nesters. Our sons are ages 24, 23, and 21 and we have a new daughter in love. We’ve had a lot of transition over the year. It has also been a transition that has opened up an opportunity for me to focus in on writing to see if this is something that God can use me for.
So, I’m just here for the journey. I’m here to see what God has for me. I’m willing to learn.
I really enjoy writing, although it did not start out that way. In High School our English teacher “forced” us to journal and I hated it!! I said, “I will never ever journal again if I can just make it out of this class.”
Fast forward to when our sons were very young, saying the cutest things and doing the darn cutest things ever! I didn’t want to forget anything so I began to write down those little stories. From that, from those stories, I began to pray for the boys and pray for my husband and our ministry and other things. My journal became less about the cute things the boys were doing and more about my prayer life and what God was showing me in His word. From that, when blogging became a thing, I thought, “I’ll just give it a try.”
Blogging is an outlet for me.
I really enjoy being able to express myself and to see how putting words out there can help me better understand my thought life and how God is teaching me.
I’m really new at all of this. I will go ahead and thank you ahead of time for being graceful. Thank you so much.
I write over at www.lifeundertheoaktree.blogspot.com.
I am sitting under the oak tree in our side yard. As I consider how big and huge and majestic this tree is I also have to consider that this tree has a very deep root system. As I think about this I realize: If I’m to be the woman of God that He has called me to be and created me to be, then I must have a strong root system too. Therefore, the Word, Worship and Prayer are my roots. If I’m to be the woman of God that He has created me to be, then I must have a strong root system… Click To Tweet
