In this video I introduce myself and my children. I then share with you my testimony and my passion. God can do so much in our lives and in our home if we seek to do His will everyday. Below this video is the transcript of what I share in the video. If you are viewing this post in your email and can’t view the video you can view it on this post at Ask God Today.

Anastacia Maness

Hi! I’m Anastacia Maness. I am a preacher’s wife and homeschooling mother of 6 children, 4 of whom are with me (in this video). Elisabeth (3), Elijah (5), Jonathan (7), and Hannah (10 years old). And then we have Ruth (who is in the house) (15), and Joshua (17).

AnastaciaHow was I called to write?

I wanted to be a writer ever since I was a child in school. It wasn’t until I was older and grown that I realized I could use that gift of writing as a ministry to reach people. I started by writing tracts and bulletins for my church to pass out to the community. Then I started blogging and started learning and growing ever since.

How did I meet Brenda?

I met Brenda through Tribe Writers which is an online writing course. And then I joined the Ask God Today Ministries team where I got to know her better. And she is also now my writing coach she is helping me finish my first print book. And I’m looking forward to having that finished by the end of this year. (Update: I’m now looking to finish my book by Thanksgiving. Yea!)

My Testimony:

I was raised in a Christian home. My parents took me to a Baptist Church when I was a baby. The pastor told my parents that “God is only going to be as real to your children as He is to you.” They took that to heart and my mom and dad made sure my brother, sister, and I were raised up in Church and made sure we were in church every service. They took us.

When I was 7 years old I made a false profession of faith. I saw other people be Baptized and I wanted to be baptized too. So I said a simple prayer just to be baptized. It wasn’t until I was 10 years old at Church Camp that I realized I wasn’t truly saved. I asked… that day at church camp I asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins and I realized I needed Him to be my Savior and come into my heart. I wanted to live for Him. Ever since that day I strove to learn and grow and serve Him in whatever way I could.

What is something people may find unexpected about me?

If you met me in person you would find I’m extremely shy. I sometimes have to pep talk myself when I go places that are new or if I have to go to a meeting or something that I never been to before. I often have to tell myself and encourage myself to go in. If my husband is with me he knows this about me and he’ll be the one helping me say it’s going to be okay, they want you to come, they will be nice, everyone will be nice and friendly. Yeah, I get really nervous sometimes. But I’m getting better. I actually have been going places more on my own and getting braver the more I do and the more I go places.

What is my favorite Movie?

My favorite movie is probably Moms’ Night Out. I like all the movies that the Kendrick Brothers have made but Moms’ Night Out really spoke to me because it was like they looked at my life with kids. I cried and laughed throughout that movie. So that is probably the movie that really spoke to me.

What is my passion and life verse?

My passion is to help build and strengthen families. In a world with so many broken homes I want to set the example of what a good Christian home should look like. I grew up in a Christian home with parents that loved each other and loved God and were committed to their marriage. I want to set the same example for other families that don’t know what that looks like and will raise their children up to break the vicious cycle of broken homes and rebellious children.

Jesus said,

Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.” (Luke 6:47-48)

Will you join us and build your home on the firm foundation of Jesus today?

Tell me about your family in the comments. I would love to learn more about you.
