Ask God…do you hear me God? Do you ever feel sometimes you pray and pray and you don’t get an answer, nothing changes? You think, where are you God, why aren’t you listening to me? Don’t you know God I need you to hear me? I can’t do this on my own, I need you and I need you now!

I prayed and prayed for the healing of someone very close to me at one time in my life. I prayed for him to get healing of an addiction that was destroying not only his life, but mine and my kids lives. I promised God, “God I will exalt you and give you the glory, just please heal him, heal our marriage”. I waited and waited, but it didn’t get better, it got worse. I didn’t understand why and how did this happen. I didn’t understand, why God didn’t heal him and make everything better.

God doesn’t always answer our prayers the way we think He should. But He does answer our prayers. He doesn’t always answer in our timing, but He does answer. God showed me many years ago, even though prayer may not change our circumstances and change things the way we want them to be; prayer changes things!

After years of praying for healing and things only getting worse, I later realized that the change came inside of me. I became so dependent on The Lord…He was the air that I breathed. I got so close to Him that I was holding onto Him for dear life!! He was my life preserver…and I caught HIM and I am so glad that I did!! Life Preserver picI saw His glory through His goodness towards me, His love towards me. God did answer my prayers and He has later shown me how He answered. But, at that moment in my life He was working on me. I persevered and I grew stronger. I found my hope in The Lord and trusted that He had His eye on me. He never let me out of His sight. He had great plans for me. I have seen His goodness while I am still here in the land of the living! I just had to be patient and wait patiently for The Lord!!

God just wants you to come closer to Him. He just wants you to talk to Him. Spend time with Him. Sometimes, He will allow hard circumstances in your life to get you to turn your heart towards His. Is your heart responding? Are you putting Him off or are you responding “Lord, I am coming.”

“Hear me as I pray, O Lord. Be merciful and answer me! My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.” And my heart responds, “Lord, I am coming.” Psalm 27:7-8

“Yet I am confident I will see the Lord ’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living. Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” (Psalms 27:13, 14 NLT)
